St Joe River
We took off on an adventure to go kayaking
on the St Joe river with Rich and Peggy Cannon
Wow what a trip it turned out to be.
It was a really warm September day and we headed
up to the Huckleberry camp ground on the St Joe
we had been told that there was a place to put in on the
river about 4 miles from our camp site and we could Kayak
back right to our camp site.
Well being the adventurous group we were we headed
up to the ranger station about 12 miles up the river from
our camp and decided to put in there and take a good
long ride. The Rangers said we might have to walk in
some of the places where the water was shallow.
You can see from these first pictures that Rich took
the water was great where we started, but very shallow and lots
of rocks farther down river !!!
We spent 5 hours paddling got back to camp just
before dark and we were all so exhausted
but all we could think about was how much fun it was!
Rich said lake kayaking was really going to be boring
after this trip.
Great Friends
Great time
Beautiful Place
This is the start
The water was so clear, you could see these Big
cutthroat trout in the river
Here is were it got tricky, lots of rocks,
I hit a big granite boulder and came
right out of my kayak
Lucky for me it was warm
Rich and Gary saved my kayak
and down the river we went
This is what camp looked like after we got back
and everyone had wet cloths
We definitely were in Idaho
Here is one sleepy Gary with the "Kids" cuddled up
in the morning
These two picture are right outside our camp site
